Live Free Recovery Outpatient Program
Live Free Recovery Services provides assistance to those suffering from alcohol or drug addiction in New Hampshire. We have sober living homes and other treatment facilities in Manchester and Keene, the first of which was opened in Manchester, which is also the city where our outpatient program is located.
Importance of Location in Outpatient Treatment
The location of your outpatient program is an essential element of your experience since you will be spending your nights and many of your daytime hours away from our facilities. Fortunately, ours is conveniently situated in the middle of the state’s largest city, more specifically on Manchester’s West Side.
Where We Are
Our address is:
Live Free Recovery Outpatient Program
165 Kelley St. A
Manchester, NH 03102
We are situated to the west of the Merrimack River. If you are downtown at the intersection of Canal and Bridge Streets, we are less than a mile from you. From there and other areas downtown as well as numerous places further to the west of us, you can catch the Manchester Transit Authority’s 6 bus to reach us.
Note that if you live in Concord and Nashua, you will also be able to take MTA buses to and from Manchester. Just make sure that when those buses are being operated align with the times of your treatment.
If you are coming from outside of Manchester and driving in, you will most likely be taking either Interstate 93 or Route 3, the latter option being your highway of choice if you are driving from Nashua. In fact, our outpatient program location is situated within a 30-minute drive from there as well as from Concord while it is an hour-long drive from Portsmouth and other Seacoast region communities.
For those taking ground transportation from outside of the Concord-Manchester-Nashua region into the city, you will need to use the services of Greyhound or Boston Express, the latter of which only provides round trip service from New Hampshire communities Londonderry and Salem as well as Boston’s South Station and Logan International Airport. However, taking a Greyhound or Boston Express bus might not be a viable option if you are receiving treatment that same day.
With all of that said, do keep in mind that we will work with you to create a schedule that both allows us to provide you with the best treatment possible and that blends as well as possible with your personal schedule, with what you have going on in your life otherwise.
Note that there is no requirement to live in New Hampshire to take advantage of what we have to offer those suffering from an addiction to drugs or alcohol.
Benefits of Outpatient Treatment
There are two main benefits of taking advantage of outpatient treatment as compared to our more intensive alternatives. One is that it is a more cost-effective method of treatment, particularly if you already live in the Manchester area or nearby. The other is that it allows you to still be able to focus extensive amounts of time on your job, education, family and friends that would not be possible if you were undergoing extensive inpatient treatment.
Reasons Why Outpatient Treatment May Not Be Right For You
It is important for you to also consider a few reasons why outpatient treatment may not be the best option for you at this point of time. These include if you are experiencing a particularly severe addiction to drugs or alcohol that has adversely affected numerous important aspects of your life, if you need to undergo detox before starting your addiction treatment program, if you are experiencing co-occurring disorders, such as is the case if you are suffering from depression as well as an addiction, or if you lack a strong personal support system.
Our Outpatient Treatment Program
Outpatient treatment differs from other types of treatment in that your personalized care is done without you staying overnight in a residential facility. We provide you with that care during the day, and you will then head home to implement what you have learned during your normal day-to-day life. Our outpatient program generally consists of you coming into our facility for a couple of hours once or twice a week.
Experiences that you may have while undergoing outpatient treatment may include cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy as well as life skills training, education on how this addiction has affected your mind and body and how you can overcome it and prevent relapses and counseling, which may be focused solely on you or might involve a group of peers or your family.
Other elements of our outpatient treatment program may include holistic treatment methods to help ensure that you experience full-body and -mind improvements. These can include nutrition counseling, exercise education and other alternative treatments that have proven effective with others. For example, many take advantage of New Hampshire’s incredible beauty by hiking before or after treatment.
Note that some use our outpatient treatment program from the beginning of their treatment while others utilize our more intensive offerings before transitioning to this.
Our Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization Programs
We also offer intensive outpatient programs for those looking to take advantage of our therapy for 3-4 hours a day multiple days of the week while still returning home afterwards. Another step further in that direction but still not involving any overnight stays is our partial hospitalization program, which generally consists of high-quality support 5-8 hours a day for 5-7 days a week.
That said, do keep in mind that if you utilize our regular outpatient treatment program, you will still receive access to the same therapies and treatments as those in our intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs. Examples include our relapse prevention planning and drug education programs.
Our Inpatient Treatment Program
Also consider our inpatient treatment options, which may be necessary for those suffering from alcohol or drug addiction to a more significant degree and who would benefit greatly from being immersed in our treatment methods on a 24-7 basis for a period of time. However, with that said, many have reported that our partial hospitalization program has been just as effective as inpatient treatment.
12 Steps
One of the ways that we treat those who take advantage of our outpatient offerings is through the application of the 12-step program, which was initially developed by Alcoholics Anonymous nearly a century ago and has also been used by other recovery-focused organizations since. We firmly believe that you focusing on it as you recover will ultimately grant you a sense of peace and wellbeing.
Our History
Ryan Gagne is the inspiration behind Live Free Recovery Services as he opened our first sober living home in Manchester and has continued to expand our offerings into other locations in the Granite State. Ryan, who was raised in Hudson, a town situated just outside Nashua and near Manchester, has gone through recovery himself and wants to help others experience the sober life that he has.
One of the aspects of recovery that Ryan feels strongest about is that suffering is not a required element of recovery, and our top-notch facilities and the quality of our care help that become a reality. Of course, recovery will likely not be an easy process, but it does not necessarily need to include suffering.
Ryan also believes that the most effective way to treat addiction is by focusing on the mind, body and spirit.
