Live Free Recovery and Sober Living offers client services throughout New Hampshire. The first sober living home in Manchester, New Hampshire, was developed by a recovery advocate and fellow recovering person.

There is no cure for drug and alcohol addiction. Nevertheless, based on many years of experience in the field of substance misuse, we believe that anyone can maintain long-term recovery if they take certain steps and practice certain principles. Our goal is to help our clients to recreate their lives and enjoy a fulfilling future.

Treatment Facilities

Launch your journey into recovery in a panoramic setting where Mother Nature provides a beautiful backdrop for grounding and healing. The Live Free Recovery campus accommodates up to 24 guests in six separate two-bedroom apartments. All sober houses feature updated kitchens and bathrooms with roomy and comfortable living areas.

Our sober houses are designed to foster feelings of warmth, relaxation, serenity, acceptance and safety. We have found that this kind of an environment encourages healing, honesty, openness and growth.

The town of Keene understands the gravity of the current opioid crises and supports the presence of sober living homes in the community. Local employers are willing to provide jobs in a safe and structured setting to support those seeking recovery from substance use disorder.

The staff maintains offices on the first floor where they provide support for clients. There is also a large meeting room. Staff members are on-site and available 24/7, and our dedicated security team provides around-the-clock premises surveillance.

People living in Keene who are part of the local recovering community visit the sober living home to bring meetings to the clients who currently reside there. A crucial part of recovery is bonding with other recovering people.

Many in the field of addiction agree that people can’t recover from drug and alcohol misuse without the help of a higher power and the support of others in the 12-step program.

Insurance Coverage at Live Free Recovery Services

Our recovery services are typically covered, at least in part, by health insurance. Some insurers will only cover treatment at specific facilities. Other insurers let you choose your own treatment facility. Call your insurance company directly to find out what your coverage limits are.

Generally speaking, the more care you require to treat a substance use disorder, the more your treatment will cost. Long-term residential care is more expensive than outpatient treatment. Nevertheless, outpatient care may not be effective if a client’s level of addiction is severe and well-established.

We will work with you and your insurance company to ensure that you receive all the insurance benefits to which you are entitled. At Live Free Recovery Services, we accept Medicaid and several other health insurance providers:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield (in-network)
  • Aetna (in-network)
  • Cigna (in-network)
  • Tricare (out-of-network)
  • New Hampshire Medicaid (in-network)

New Hampshire Medicaid Covers 100% of Drug and Alcohol Treatment Costs

If you are a New Hampshire resident living on a limited income and you worry that you won’t be able to pay for the help you need, here is some good news. New Hampshire Medicaid covers 100% of the cost of treatment for low-income New Hampshire residents with a substance use disorder. Under the Affordable Care Act, you are also entitled to a high quality of care.

Spirituality and the Twelve Steps

The 12 steps are a set of spiritual guidelines that people follow to help themselves maintain a healthy sobriety. At Live Free Recovery Services, we believe that treatment for drug and alcohol addiction must address all aspects of a person’s being.

That includes mental, emotional and physical health. It also includes a person’s spiritual condition. Many in the field of drug and alcohol addiction believe that a lack of spiritual fitness can prevent a person from achieving or maintaining long-term sobriety.

For that reason, we foster a 12-step spirit throughout our treatment center at all times rather than only in AA meetings. We agree with Bill Wilson, the founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, that the 12 steps are “a design for living that really works.”

By creating and maintaining an environment based on the 12 steps, we can more holistically and effectively help our clients to develop optimistic patterns of thought that result in positive feelings and emotions.

When the physical body is supported by healthy living practices, it cannot help but respond with healing. A restoration of body and spirit to sanity is sure to follow.

Medication-assisted Treatment Program (MAT)

MAT is a highly effective treatment for severe opioid addiction. Using a combination of medication, counseling and therapy, MAT has been shown to reduce opioid overdose deaths by half.

Medication-assisted treatment reduces cravings while improving a client’s overall quality of life. MAT is recognized as a viable treatment option for opioid addiction and can help those individuals to maintain long-term recovery and to achieve goals they might not otherwise attain.

The benefits of medication-assisted treatment can far outweigh the risks:

  • Eliminates the extreme highs and lows associated with substance misuse
  • Minimizes substance-induced euphoria
  • Curtails psychological cravings
  • Balances brain chemistry to enhance functional performance
  • Decreases illicit drug use
  • Reduces legal consequences associated with drug use
  • Lessens potential relapse when accompanied by counseling and therapy
  • Makes it safer and easier to quit by reducing cravings and symptoms
  • Increases treatment center retention rates
  • Lessens death by overdose
